Be Your Own Bike Mechanic is offered as a 4-week course at our Bike School. Throughout the class you’ll learn about all aspects of your bike, from the quick releases to the headset. Students will build confidence to tackle bike projects on their own, learn the anatomy and nuances of their bikes, and be able to identify mechanical problems. This popular series is taught by professional mechanics and educators who love sharing their knowledge of bicycles.

All classes are taught at the Portland Gear Hub Bike School located at 85 Anderson St., Portland, ME.

Class sizes are small to ensure high quality instruction for each student and enough space and time to cover the nuances of each person’s bicycle. This class will have a maximum of 4 students.

Classes are designed for adults, ages 18+. For anyone under age 18 interested in signing up, we ask that you reach out to us directly.
