Be Your Own Bike Mechanic

Class Description

Be Your Own Bike Mechanic is offered as a 6-week course at our Bike School. Throughout the class you’ll learn about all aspects of your bike, from the quick releases to the headset. Students will build confidence to tackle bike projects on their own, learn the anatomy and nuances of their bikes, and be able to identify mechanical problems. This popular series is taught by professional mechanics and educators who love sharing their knowledge of bicycles.

Class Schedule

We host 3 classes a week year-round, with a summer break in July & August so we can focus on our free earn-a-bike programs. Classes run Mondays 3:30 - 5:30PM, Wednesdays 6 - 8PM, and Thursdays 4 - 6PM, with Thursday classes offered as part of our GEO series (Gender Equality Outdoors).

Classes are posted the month ahead of the fall and spring seasons. If you don't see anything here, that's a sign that classes are full and underway. Our class sizes are small to maximize learning, and they fill up quickly. We can run a class with at least 3 students and a maximum of 4.

Sign up for our weekly newsletter to hear first when class registration goes live.

Registration for March 2024 classes will be available on Friday, February 16th. Dates and registration for April/ May classes will be posted mid-March.
