Be Your Own Bike Mechanic is offered as a 6-week course at our Bike School. Throughout the class you’ll learn about all aspects of your bike, from the quick releases to the bottom bracket. By the final class students will be able to deconstruct their bike, identify mechanical problems, and put it all back together again. The GEO version of this popular series is taught by one of our female-identifying professional mechanics and educators who love sharing their knowledge of bicycles.
Thursdays, April 27 - June 8, 3:30 - 5:30 PM (skip May 18th)
All classes are taught at the Portland Gear Hub Bike School located at 85 Anderson St., Portland, ME.
Class sizes are small to ensure high quality instruction for each student and enough space and time to cover the nuances of each bicycle.
Classes are designed for adults, ages 18+. For anyone under age 18 interested in signing up, we ask that you reach out to us directly.
Gender Equality Outdoors celebrates female, trans, and femme folks getting outside and sharing knowledge of bicycle mechanics and the outdoors.
